Kicker Comp VR - Anybody use them?

I hate to sell them, so I figured I could at least put them to good use in my truck/car.
My car already has a sealed box in the center storage area with one JL 10" sub. Don't know the specific model # on it but it is one of the cheaper ones/single voice coil. I don't remember the airspace I built the box for either but it seems like it was a little small for the requirements-with the box top flush with the hatch floor. It still sounds pretty good. Don't remember the model # on the amp either but I'm running a MTX 300 watt RMS 1 channel mono.
I thought about replacing the JL with one of these 12" comp VRs, but of course I would have to build a bigger box because of the larger airspace requirements on the 12" sub. The box will most likely come up over the hatch floor, but I'm ok with that. This is really the only place I want the box, because this is my DD and I want to utilize all of the hatch space I can for other stuff. I've never built a ported box before. Of course this will be sealed because a ported box will have too much airspace requirements resulting in a much larger box.
Both of the comp VRs have dual voice coils, and I've never wired one of these either. I have no idea how to wire it correctly
They are both 4 ohm. Is it worth upgrading to one of these Comp VR 12's? I can build the box and all based on the responses I get here. I'm just wondering if it is worth using them.
not sure what to suggest... if you have the JL 10" W3v3 you should be good to go... I get tons of bass out of mine. These max out at 500W.
The Kicker comp vr 12 max out at 400W. My 8" vrs max out at 200W.
You may get some really nice results from the vr12 since two speakers at 400W will be better than one at 500W. The frequency response for the Vr12s is 25-500 Hz while the freq response on the JL is 25-250Hz (assuming you have the W3v3). So you will actually expand the frequency response from the hatch area with only a minor loss top end power handling but you will have to modify your box.
Here are some pics of my set-up -- http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...r-install.html
