Ok, so I'm coming back from lunch today listening to the radio, then suddenly the only thing I hear is a 16KHz scream coming from the right rear speaker! Actually, i didn't deduce that until after I returned to work... with the radio OFF! I think my ears are still ringing...
Anyway, is that the typical Blows amplifier biting the big one? Obviously, I'm going to have to disable that speaker when I get home... maybe even try to repair it (what have I got to lose?).
Shawn:
You've got the right song, the Blose going south song. I heard it for the first time about a year ago. I've replaced everything in the system since then.
You might consider sending the amp to Dr. Don, he has repaired a bunch of amps and head units for members of the forum, and no complaints. http://www.doctordons.homestead.com
I am not sure what type of doctor Don is, so don't send anything other than the Blose if you understand!!!!!!!! OUCH
Bill :) :)
Actually, I fixed it myself... only took a couple of hours. I replaced every electrolytic cap on the board! No more squeal!! I'm eventually going to upgrade the system, so I consider this a stop gap measure until then. I now have an excuse to begin shopping though! :yesnod:
