Default Kenwood DNX Gurus Step Inside

I recently purchased a Kenwood DNX 7100 (used). Through the efforts of many people on this forum I finally figured out the wiring and interface needed (stock amp, base radio). This thing is almost magic!

A couple questions - I went to the Kenwood site, but I'm not certain of what the most current firmware update is. There's several listed, but I know if I install the wrong update

My USB connector seems to work. Saying that, when I tried to upload jpegs on the HU it did not see any pictures there. The USB lights up, and the HU switches to USB mode. Any ideas?

lastly, the angle adjustment of the screen seems to ne usable in positions 2, 4, 5. When other positions are selected it goes to the selected position and then defaulta to position 4. I don't think it's a mechanical issue, as it does go to the selected position - it just won't stay there.

Thanks again for all the help. I found the correct wire at the TC/AH switch. The colors were pretty close, as y'all warned me.

TIA

Jim

Have you tried the Kenwood Forum? Good resource for DNX Series HU's.

Thanks for the tip, but it doesn't seem like the 7100 is too popular on that site. I know a lot of Corvetters use them, so I'm still hoping someone will come through.

I did get the USB to function by installing it, turning the car off, then on again. It took a few seconds, but finally saw the jpegs
