Do anyone have pictures or a link to a thread with pictures that shows how to install an aftermarket stereo in a 69...I guess any with that dash 76 to 68 would be a help,
Many thanks!
I seem to recall that a couple of the major Corvette supply houses (don't want to mention any names, as I don't know who is/isn't a sponsor) now carry replacement dashboard/console bezels that are manufactured to accept a current style CD/stereo unit. In fact, I think that they also sold them complete with the stereo.
In that way, you would have a head unit that had enough internal power, yet is compact in size, that would drive any reasonable speaker set-up, such as 4x6s in the dash or kick panels, and a couple of aftermarket boxes with 6x9s in the back.
Crutchfield used to sell boxes for rear mounted 6x9s, that required only a couple of holes to be drilled, to hold the boxes in place, in the rear corners of the rear compartment.
