I have boston pro 6.5 components (20-400w)and rx57s (20-140w) that I need to power. Gonna return my audiobahn a435hcx which only makes 35x4 since I'll prolly want more power. I'm trying to decide if I should go with the RF punch 800.4 which is 100x4 or spending an extra $150 and going with the phoenix gold Ti500 which is 75x4. Which would be better for sound quality and clarity?
I would choose to spend the extra for the ti PG. I can hear a SQ difference in the ti series over most other amps out, including those you listed. Is the 500 a new model, or one from the past about 3 years ago?
Re: Can't decide which amp is better? (M396 #00-011)
PG will sound better and probably has the same amount of power. Amp companies rate amp power with different measuring systems. A 75x4 PG is probably similar to a 100x4 RF.
I'll really consider the PG now. The other option I had was the JL audio 300/4. I can get the PG ti500 on wbay for $499 or the JL for $350.
I'll try to save up for the Ti500. My cheap option would be to keep the audiobahn a435hcx, bridge it to 70x2 to power the fronts and have the HU power the rears, but I guess if its worth saving up for the PG, I'll have to go for that.
More power & more features & better warranty and quality history = better
Many people believe that amps ahve no differene in sound quality, some guy is putting $10000 on it because htey all use the same amplification circuit.
dont know if i buy it or not, my ArCAudio sounds WAAY better than my OLD soundstream at similar power.
