Speed signal
I am installing a Pioneer AVIC Z110bt in my 1998 Vette. I must tap into the Car speed signal input for "better location display". For one is this REALLY necessary? Will it really mess up the accuracy of the GPS like it leads you to believe if I dont( my previous Garmin seemed fine without it). And if it is , where is the best place to tap into the speed signal input?

VSS wire
here you go I have a navigation h/u that has to connect to a speed sensor wire, where is it?
You will have to tap into the harness on the instrument cluster. You need to find the Green/white (A7-circuit 817) with a tan/white (A6-circuit 33) above it and a black (A8-circuit 150 ) below it..The other green/white (A10-circuit 357) oil temp has a blank and a gray on each side.
I'd replaced my stock one with a Pioneer Z-2 and don't forget to do the brake & back-up lights too.

Thanks for the info, yea it would seem like far too much effort to run the speed signal wire since I live in an area where there isn't a "true" tunnel for miles. Closest I come to signal loss is in the depth's of New Orleans, the buildings sometimes mess with my current GPS but not too bad.
