No, you won't be able to do that at all. Trust me ... it's not just not going to sound good, it is not possible at all.
There is a simple and inexpensive solution to get *some* additional bottom end (not thumping bass, just nicely "filled-out").
You can mount a Boss 1200 10" powered sub behind the passenger seat. They are only about $100.
The JL unit takes up a ton of space and unfortunately has a JL sub, I have shipped a few ID subs as replacements for JL and they made the owners very happy

I will eventually have a far smaller enclosure taking up much less space, higher output, deeper playing and more musical system that is low in weight for the rear corner. I thought we were close by the company I hired is just not getting them done so looking at other alternatives.

Bose is still respected by many unknowing people buying their mediocre products, even GM buys their crap because they all make a ton of money on cheap junk.
JL is certainly far better than Bose but certainly nothing to get to excited about, there are all sorts of products on the market that are better in most every way, except they are smart in producing all these drop in boxes and for the most part they are a great value compared to custom work, etc..... but the C6 one could of been much smaller and certainly filled with a better sub(all their Stealthboxes could use a better sub)
So yes, they do their R&D and they bank on thier name and signature sound and tens of thousands are happy thinking they have a great sub but just do not know what they are missing. There is better, swapping out the sub, as many have done over the years, use their box because you can get it now and use it, put in a good sub so it sounds like it should.
BUT, if you are happy with the way they sound, great, enjoy it, many are. I wish I could go back to the days when I thought I was the sheat sitting on the front fender of our family 62 Belair in the "big city" cranking up the Motorola 8 track and 6x9's, we were the only one out of dozens of cruisers with a stereo and we were the country bumpkins hanging out on cruise night in the city. That was 42 years ago, time sure flies!

NOTE: I do not even want to be in the enclosure business, if anybody made a proper one for our cars, compact, light weight, none resonant, etc I would gladly buy from them or direct others to them. There is one company here that does a decent job but need to reduce some weight, which is really easy to do, that I tried to hire to build them for me, for them, whatever, I just wanted something better, they never even bothered to respond and I was offering to buy or commission pretty good batches numbers, not really caring if I made anything on them, just want something better for my fellow Vette owners. These are super cars and deserve products that match the cars, no old worn out methods and materials, etc.....

What?

Comparing JL to a motorola 8-track.
Thats really a bad argument there. If and when you ever put a comparable product on the market I look forward to how it stacks up. You're burning daylight though, the C6 has been out for over 5 years, the C7 Vette is coming fast and you're missing the boat.
ID makes the ID v.3 in an 8, I have one here for a project I never got around to finishing so did not listen to it but I have used the 10 and it is great. I have a pair of the 15's in my huge horn loaded subwoofer in the living room and it sounds incredible and will message your feet on the other side of the house

I wish they had a new IDQ 8 but there is not enough market for 8's to bring it out, I absolutely love the IDQ10, really an 11, plays like a 12 in output, nice and low, fast like a 10, very very musical, I stock them

If the dual 8 unit you have comes with the W0 these would out perform those in every way possible, if they fit. If it comes with W3 subs it would not be as dramatic but still should be a great deal better, as long as enough air space for the IDs, they will play nice and low for an 8, very musical, tight punchy bass is what we get from smaller subs, I like that but find for most applications I like 10's the best.
I put 3 Arc 8's into separate sealed compartments in a Jeep once for a buddy, that thing would take your head off, they are probably pretty similar to the ID though the ID may be a bit more musical as the Arc was designed to be a bit higher in output. I have used dozens of the Arc 10, always loved them and have some left over from previous projects.
There are other good brands but I no longer swap out subs like I used to, over 10 different setups in my old competition truck looking for the best I could get for my needs, ended up with ID Max 12's but for the last many years now have a since Arc 10 and very happy with it.
If somebody in the Utah area has the dual 8 JL I would order in another ID 8 and swap them out so we could listen to them
