I'm under the suspicion that I blew a passenger rear on my 2005 NAV/Bose (Blows) system.
I've been very unhappy with the sound quality. I've since disconnected the center and put BA's in the doors. Now I've lost one of the two rears. I just picked up some Polk's at Best Buy. These are the dxi's.
My question is....
What's the easy way to replace these? Do I replace them from the top decklid area or can these come out on the cover side? I assume there screwed in from the cover side, but are there any supports or connections that I need to know about behind them?
I replaced my rears with infinity's. Maybe a 10% improvement! The rear are not stero either! I just did a quick search for the instructions on how to replace, fairly easy. I did notice after replacing that I thought I had a blown speaker. Turns out it is the two panels that mate up, were making the blown speaker sound. I just put a little padding between the two and it was cured. Don't expect any improvement in sound sorry to say.
Thanks. Yeah..I'm not too pleased with the system as it stands. I'll check the panels. I was cranking some Burning Spear (reggae) with the top down and noticed the sound next time I had her out.
I replaced those speakers with JL 5.25 coax types. Not much better. Spend the money on better components for the door and put a nice subwoofer in the rear.
