I have an old 5th Gen Ipod Video 30g that I use in my cars C5Z & Volvo V70R. I have the Kenwood DNX8120 DD headunit. The ipod interface is pretty good an fast.
if you don't have an iPod and are putting in a new HU, just get one with SD card or USB support. It's way easy to use--I have my entire CD collection on one $29 USB stick.

I don'r agree, I have both a 16 gb card with music and a 64gb ipod touch and the file system on the ipod is way better, If you don't have an ipod get one, You won't regret it.

I'm with you Mr Bill. The ipod is the way to go. It has use outside of the car. Keeping my entire album collection with me at all times is quite a plus
When I got my first iPod I was always taking it with me. Eventually I got tired of plugging it into the car harness, so I got a second iPod, one stayed in the glove box, one was for me everywhere else.
I then got an iPhone4 when they came out (not only my first smart phone, my first cell that could even send a text). Now I have a 60GB video ipod in my glove box that NEVER leaves the car, another 80GB classic hooked up to my entertainment system via a DLO dock with remote and video out to the TV, and my 32GB iphone that I take pretty much everywhere. I beleive I'm hooked
