Default Battery choices?

I am about to do a complete system in my 08. Since the 08 has reverse top posts I was going to get a Yellow Top with dual posts and hook amps to side terminals. I am being told Optima does make a dual reverse post battery that fits my car. Is there another option?

Matter of opinion. I've had 3 Optimas in 3 cars and never had a problem.

I used to use OTIMAS, but I had several failures and short life (prorated).

I switched to ODYSSEY and am very happy.

I needed a new battery earlier this year, prob would have gone with Optima if not for so many reports of duds. I ended up with new AGM DieHard Platinum from Sears, it has 4-Year Free Replacement & 100-Month Prorated Limited Warranty. It was even cheaper than Optima

Would a Kirkland work?

Why it's best:
Surprisingly enough, Costco’s in-house brand Kirkland Signature makes one of the best value car batteries to be found on sale today. The performance and amp ratings of the Kirkland Signature car batteries match or exceed that of super-premium brands such as Optima, at about half the price of what you’d pay for the name-brand product. The cold-weather performance of the ‘Costco’ batteries is outstanding, and you can count on your car to start every time even in below-freezing conditions. The Kirkland Signature battery also carries a unique warranty in that it is not pro-rated, meaning you get a full refund of the purchase price if the battery fails for whatever reason. Given its price and the surprising amount of performance and dependability you get from the Kirkland Signature car battery, it is an absolute bargain.

Kirkland

If you're a member of Costco then you will be able to purchase the Kirkland batteries. These are some of the best value batteries on the market. They can handle extreme temperatures, have very long life spans and are very affordable. Don't turn up your nose at these great value for money batteries, because Kirkland batteries are ranked right up there with Optima, some of the highest rated and most expensive high performance batteries on the market.

Kirkland Signature range join our car battery reviews quite simply because they are a best value battery. Performance and ratings for these batteries are on a par with leading brands such as Optima. Even in the coldest of weather performance is impressive. Considering this brand of battery is half price or less to leading high performance brands this looks to be the best choice all around.

3 Battery Manufacturers and their Battery Brands:

1. Delphi - AC Delco and some EverStart;
2. Exide - Champion, Exide, Napa, and some EverStart; and
3. Johnson Controls Industries - Diehard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford), and some EverStart.

When experienced radio news reporters are asked to give advice to rookies, invariably those veteran reporters will say something about carrying enough fresh batteries to make sure the news can be gathered.

How much power are you planning on running? You might not need a new battery.
