Default Sub enclosure for C5

I've seen lots of sub installs where the center storage is used for the sub enclosure. I hate to see that space get used and am wondering whether the smaller storage bins can be used to host 2 smaller subs?

Anyone used the smaller storage for their subs? Any pictures??

There are at least two different options.

I was thinking the same thing. After looking at it for a while I decided the small cubbies would be too much trouble. Here's what I came up with. I built a box and installed 2 8" Infinity Reference subs. The box is built from heavy MDF and was specifically designed to go in the back of a coupe, in between the humps that house the hatch latches. The top can still be stored in the stock mounts and all three compartments can still be used. Each sub has a separate chamber with .35 cu inches of volume and fiber fill. Subs are only 8" so they don't play really low, but they hit like crazy when they were hooked to my 400w Alpine amp and facing right at the back of your head.

Vinyl was originally black when it was in my '97, but was changed to tan when I got my '04 Lemans Comm. Since I moved to an '08 vert I don't have a use for it anymore. I'll let the box and subs go for $75 plus actual shipping. The vinyl has a couple of small holes, but unless you have an anniversary or commemorative car you'll need to recover the box anyway.

I've also got the amp I powered the sub with for sale for a good price, here's a link to that thread.

I would avoid purchasing from Madvette at this time. While I know many forum members have been pleased with their work, several members have been waiting months for their orders with little correspondence and disconnected phone numbers, including myself.
