Default Need Help Picking a Nav Unit for C6

Hello

This weekend I bought a 2010 GS. I really wanted the touch screen Nav but when picking a 2010 you get what they have on the lots. Anyway I figured no biggie I will just pick up an aftermarket one. These are the functions I am looking for.

* I currently have blue tooth and don't want to loose it with steering wheel controls.
* Steering Wheel radio controls just like the factory one.
* Iphone/IPod hook ups that control on screen and charge the Iphone/Ipod
* Nav
* Backup Camera
* DVD playback
* Sirius/XM

If you have pics please list. Thanks for all of your help. I am glad to be back in the Corvette family again. Three years without one was way to long.

Congrats on the new car buddy!

I wouldn't say you lost anything by not getting the factory Nav system...I've used it twice and I'm ready to pull it out and set it on fire. It is just that good.

Let me know what you find...a couple of us had this tread going on in Z06...

Best Nav out there is a Pioneer Avic Z120BT

Look on Ebay, they are $900 shipped! (they list for $1500 plus)

Installation is $200 to $300 depending.

Any aftermarket nav unit will do everything on your list except one thing. Unless something new just came out, there currently isn't an aftermarket gizmo that will retain the steering wheel BT controls. The BT buttons can be used to control radio functions (7 buttons to program instead of just the 5 normal radio ones), but they can't be used for BT functions on aftermarket radios.

I have read that the phone button can be progammed on the 9960 to answer phone calls as well as access the bluetooth

Thanks Mark

yes right now the closest thing to steering wheel controls is the MEtra ASWC which I like better than the PAC units as they learn themselves. No pushing stupid buttons like the PAc when the light goes on and off

However like Mark says you will not be able to control the BT features with the steering wheel controls.

Kenwod 9960 is gone and done. I do not have anymore and will not get anymore.
The replacement(which i think is the 9980) will be available in March. Will be taking preorderes for it as soon as I can to make sure you will guys will have first shot at these new units.

The Pioneer z120bt
I can do for 1025.00
Both Pioneer and Kenwood I can offer a full factory warranty. Anything you buy on EBAy will not have this something to keep in mind

Now all the new double din units will be released this weekend at CES in Vegas. So by next week I should start seeing pricing and info rolling in for everyone.

Another cool new option is to go with a non nav double din.
Directus has a new product called Prodigy One
This unit will allow you to add nav, 3g wireless, and run a laser radar detector wirelesss via the radio. They have a new version of the Prodigy One coming out in about 30 days for this.

If your in a hurry and want something NOW then I can offer the Z120
At this point if you can stick it out a month or two I would wait for the new 9960 replacement to come out.

A side note
Kenwood is putting all the 9960 features into the new 6960 replacement for 2011 this is a huge upgrade for the 6960

Call em if you want to discuss all your options and pricing.
Alot of prices I can not post on the forum due to MAP guidelines form the manf.

Dennis
