Hello All,
I want to keep my head unit/nav stock but would like a relatively inexpensive mod to make the sound better, I am really disappointed at the stock bose sound, my 2002 inifiniti has better sound, I am not kidding!
Someone who has just change speakers and noticed a big difference or even a noticable difference let me know, also what brand do you recommend? I want good mid range and high, not worried about bass for now....if i can spend less than $250.00 on a set of 4 that would be great.
You will get a marginal improvement if you plan on powering them from the stock HU. There just isnt enough wattage to get really good sound. What I would do if you. Keep the HU and add a nice set of components up front and use an aftermarket 2 channel amp to power them. Possibly add nice coax's in back and use a 4 channel amp. Either way it will be worlds better than what you have now.
Stock setup has powered subs & 3.5 tweeter/mid (twiddler) in doors, and 5.25's in rear. The front and rear twiddlers are pretty much pathetic compared to just about any other speaker. Replacing them with 2-way aftermarkets won't make it any louder, but the sound difference is definitely noticeable. Just doing the fronts (about $50) is good enough for many people to be happy.
What do you think is a good budget to replace the front and rear twiddlers and add a 4 channel amp? I realize that you could spend X to 5X but would $500 get a good system?
Hey, I have a set just like that I am installing its a British brand but spec's and price are real nice. Its Vibe, "Slick". I got the whole set up from Dennis at Double D Mods, he will do you right with what ever you want. Here he is C5bearsfan, check him out.
