Default C6 Stereo Replacement Questions

I'm getting ready to replace the stereo in my '08 Coupe. I've been doing a ton of research and have a few questions that I haven't been able to answer. Can anyone help out with these?

First off, the bus adapter. I know I need a box to keep the BCM happy. In reading the various install guides on the forums here it seems I need a GMAH24 to keep the BCM happy, and a second module (GMAHCM) to operate the chimes. In looking for these modules I see there is now a GMAH24B which looks to have integrated the chimes module with the GMAH24. Is this the only module I need now?

I'm tentatively planning to use a couple of the latest mini amps, possibly from Arc Audio. I like the way that slief mounted his(http://forums.corvetteforum.com/audi...ld-thread.html) and plan to mimic that. I want to cover my amps the way he did and need to get some matching carpet. In another thread someone recommended stockinteriors.com. I see they sell carpet by the yard in ebony, but I'm not sure which type of carpet to get. Can anyone tell me which kind would be appropriate for an amp rack cover? http://www.stockinteriors.com/flatca...d=5&ModelId=69

I'm pretty certain I want to swap out the stock nav system. I'm going to wait for the 2011 models to come out, then decide between the Pioneer Z130 or the Kenwood 9980. I know the Kenwood includes Garmin nav, but it's also considerably more expensive. Are there any reasons to choose one over the other if you ignore the nav system? I rarely use it, so it's not a big issue for me. I care more about the integrated bluetooth, SD/USB input, and the overall speed of the interface.

While I'm doing the install I plan to deaden and insulate most of the car. I'll most likely use BXT and Enso from RAAMaudio. Are there any interior removal guides that go into more detail than just saying "remove all interior trim"?

I plan to leave the rear speakers disconnected for now, and possible remove them later. For a car as small as the Vette with no back seats, it seems like I should be fine with only 2 speakers in the front. Anybody done this and regret it?

Thanks for the help

I never use rears, even in my double cab 2500 HD duramax that has a killer system in it

I do stock some good ones for those that still like to use them of course.

NONE of the DD HU's have superb audio processors, DACs, etc.... unfortnately so I am going to use the JVC NT3 ditital output into an outboard processor, I am waiting on the new H800 from Alpine though

Call me if you want to talk about systems and check my next post, about an upgrade path I just worked out today to a world class audio comp level for not a ton of money or added weight

I just finished my install in my 08 coupe, I went with the Pioneer Z120but I wanted the Nav function so that was a factor. I also did the sound deader and used Dynomat it was easy and I can notice the difference. As for the interior removal its pretty simple, go slow and you won't have any problems if you do feel free to PM me and I can try and help. I would also recommend talking to C5BearsFan, Dennis at DoubleD Mods he is very knowledgeable and has great prices.

My RAAMmat BXT II is every bit as good as DE but look at my price, $89 for 37.5 sq ft

And, easier to install by design

If you did not use something(really nothing else like it but some relabel it and charge a ton more) Ensolite, you are half done deading my friend, I promise and I own Vettes.

Dennis, super guy, great help, great vendor, highly recommended!

I just looked at your site and would love to see a sample of your product, I still have the doors, and rear compartment to do. Since I will be putting in a amp I will be removing the carpet again so may do some touch up. Where can I see a sample?
