The mics aren't really great quality.Anywhere you put them is going to have decent results at best. A lot of people have run the wire up the A pillar and put the mic in the sunvisor. I plan on doing this as well.

I used the clip and double-sticky tape that came with mine to put it in the top corner of the A-pillar. The camera flash makes it much more visible from outside than normal.

on the top left side of the rear view mirror, you'll never notice it there. The bracket slipped over the trim around the windshield.
