What is the best subwoofer to put in a stealthbox for a 2008 coupe.

 

Can't go wrong with a 10" Image Dynamics IDQv3

 

I heard the ID was a little bigger than the opening in the Stealthbox.

 

Stealthbox is a JL TM'd product. I like the 10W3 just fine in mine. Its set up specifically for that sub and sounds great.

 

It is, but you can get a custom box made for the ID sub, unless you already bought the box that is....

I can vouch for that. Just found out today that my brand new IDQ10v3 DOES NOT fit in the stealthbox. My installer (Speaker Works in Orange, CA) said it wasn't even really possible to mod it. Would have been better off making a custom to fit that woofer. So now I'm in the market for a new woofer that will fit.

Any suggestions? Looking for high quality, shallow enough to fit. $300 budget.

Have heard Kenwood, Alpine, JL, ID, and MTX in sizes 10" and 12" and with various amounts of watts pushing each. IMO, the JL and ID subs sound the best. Have 2 JL 10W3V3s in my C6 Coupe and 1 JL 12W3V3 in my Civic. However, if things would have worked out differently on my recent Civic audio revamp, I would have gone with the ID.

The best advice I can give is to go to a local audio sound shop, bring 2 or 3 of your favorite CDs, and listen to the brands for yourself. Ask them to connect a specific amp with the watts you are considering to the size sub you want and jam your music. Your ears will let you know what you should buy.

THEY ARE VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND 80% FIBERGLASS. WE ALSO SPRAY TRUCK THE BOX IS FITS IN SUCH A MANNER THAT IT HOLDS ITS SELF IN PLACE. BED LINNER INSIDE TO GIVE IT MORE STRENGHT. WE SEND THEM TO PAINT SHOP FOR THE FINAL ROUND AND WILL PANIT THEM ANY COLOR CODE OR MAKE YOUR OWN UP. THEN WE PUT 3 LAYERS OF CLEARCOAT ON. THESE SOUND GREAT. I RUN 2 ALPINES WITH ONLY A 600 WATT ALPINE AMP THAT FITS INSIDE ONE OF THE REAR COMPARTMENTS AND 1 HAVE A APINE 4X100 FOR THE OTHER SPEAKERS. THIS WAY YOU CAN TURN YOUR SUB IN THE DOOR INTO A MID RANGE AND I ADDED 2 TWETERS INSIDE THE MIDDLE HEAT AND AIR VENTS. iT WILL SHAKE THE WINDOWS IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT. I RUN MY AMP ABOUT 3/4 POWER AND IT WILL ROCK YOU WITH THE SMALL CABIN OF THE VETT. wE CHARGE $995.00 PLUS SHIPING. WE PAY 250.00 TO GET THEM PAINTED AND WE HAVE ABOUT 30MAN HOURS NOT INCLUDING THE PAINT IN THEM PLUS ALL THE MATERIALS SO WE ARE NOT REALLY MAKING VERY MUCH ON THEM.
