Default Rear speakers

I have been told that it is better to have a mid range speaker in the rear without a tweeter for a fill speaker. Has anyone tried the Cadence mid range series of speaker, they come without tweeters.

I think that much like the use of rear speakers at all, inclusion of a tweeter or not is all about personal taste. That's actually the first time I've heard of someone saying to not use tweeters for the rear, but it's also my taste to leave out rears altogether in most cars. My only point there being don't take it as gospel, let your ears tell you what sounds good.

I'm currently doing exactly that with some Cadence CVL5K mids-only in the back. I have an F-Mod 3500hz low pass filter at the rear inlets to the amp, and the amp set to HP at 100hz, so they're only getting the frequencies they're designed to play. I like having some rear fill, but I wasn't wild about the full freq coax I originally had back there after I got my new amp, so I took a shot with what I currently have and I think it turned out pretty good. However....

Hi, my name is Mark, and I'm a modaholic

I just got together all of the pieces and parts I need to swap out my Cadence speakers for a set of CDT ES-04 with 6500hz filters

If it works out as good as I think it will someone will get a great deal on the Cadence speakers (I purchased them new in August 2010).
