Double Din Head Unit - non Corvette
People suggested I post this here...I believe the C6 and Aura share a common steering wheel so hopefully the plug in to make the audio controls also match up.
I picked the wife up a '08 Aura XR. Fully loaded, great deals on those since Saturn is no more.
13.5K, 35K miles, full GM warranty for 12mo/12K and powertrain for 100k or 6/2013.
Everything about it is fine except the stock radio leaves a bit to be desired and after going through 3 BT Speaker deals for the phone in various cars like to get something built in that uses the factory speakers.
I'm looking for a double din deck, touch screen, BT Phone and BT Audio streaming. No nav.
Went to a few car audio places and those people aren't interested in selling to anyone with questions. They tried to push what they wanted to push.
We'll probably do speakers too. Nothing outrageous, just something that sounds decent and keeping it on the inexpensive side.
$300-$400 for a deck, ~$200 for speakers, I believe there are just 4, but there might be 6 but those would be tweaters and are cheap anyways.
I'm torn between installing it myself or taking it someplace. Also something that will use the steering wheel controls already there. It just has UP/DOWN Volume and UP/DOWN Station/Track.
I am a bang for the buck person, anyone tell me whats out there?

I know the install kit will be more. Trying to figure out what I need for the install kit is the park that I'm getting stuck on.

To keep the steering wheel buttons functional you just need to buy a radio that has a Steering Wheel Interface (SWI) available. All of the big name brands have something you can use, but the radio itself still has to have an input connection for it. Once you have the parts all you need to do is find the correct wires to connect everything to. See if you can find a Saturn forum.
