My stock head unit on my 1997 c5 died a few weeks back. So I went to crutchfield and got a new head unit to hook up with the the stock bose speakers+amp. Also got the XSVI-2004 to be able to do just that. Now I have the new head unit hooked up perfect to the directions I was given. Everything works besides the bose amp will not power up, thus my sound has zero bass. I've already talked to a few people from tech support at crutchfield, and it seems they knew less than me. If anyone has any information on this problem please let me know. Thanks for your time.
Everything is hooked up, but not being powered up. I checked the awp wire for power and its getting around 10 volts when it should be 12 volts like the other wires.
Same exact problem here. I spent 2-3 hours on the phone working with Grant from crutchfield. We can hear the relay clicking on that allows the current to flow through fuse #28, but no sound. My voltage reads 10.5. Grant thinks that it's the XSVI-2004 unit so he's sending me a new one. I'll know monday. So I guess the subs are getting power just no sound from the XSVI.
Should have just called me
Not only would you have saved money we would have sold you the Pac Roem-Vet1 harness which never has issues like the expensive Metra piece does. I would call them back and tell them to send you an roem-vet1 which works 100 times better than the garbage XSVI-2004
"These are the wires you connect: a. 8 speaker wires (colors matched exactly), b. Red to Red (accessory power) c. Yellow to Yellow (battery/constant power) d. Black to Black (ground) e. Orange to Orange/White (illumination) f. Blue/White to Blue/White (amp turn on/remote on)"
...and it does not work, then I would suspect a bad box.
Remember, to get bass you will have to adjust the pots--go slow, about 1/8 of a turn at a time.
