Hey I play most of my music off of a SD card, and I have a few questions.
Are there differences's in SD cards other than just the size? If so what makes for a good card to store music?
Also how do I get the songs on the card with out having different vol for each different song, how do I manage the input levels so that I can keep the same level's when I switch CD's?
Thanks

The only difference aside from size is speed. That won't effect playback but might help you load the files a little quicker. That said I wouldn't spend a bunch extra on that.
You need to normalize the volume. A number of apps can do that, including iTunes. Do some googling and I'm sure you'll find it. Keep in mind though that the app will be modifying the file and it *could* hurt the sound quality. So decide in advance what's more important to you, normalized gain or retaining the fidelity.
I have found no issues with volume, seems to be fine as 192kps WMA files. I did find that the H/U would not recognize more than 255 songs in a directory--solution was multiple file folders. My current 8GB card has 6 folders and about 900 songs. I set the unit to random play and it works great.

Thanks I will see what happens going to reload some songs with the volume normalized and compare them to what I have now.

I will keep this in mind, I have right at about 250 songs on my card now when I load more I will create more folders, I was going to make folders by type of music anyway.
My Pioneer 8200 only plays .wma .mp3 and .m4a. Check your manual. Same with the 255 file limitation--might not be an issue with your H/U
I will check but I am pretty sure it was playing them, Pioneer Z120. I have my songs divided up into folders by artist so I don't think I will I will have a issue with the 255. I have the master file then broken down my artist and a couple of play lists.
