Default C4 Avic D3 install questions

I'm getting ready to install a system in my Ruby. Once I get started I will take pictures to document and post it up.

Questions:

1. The vio/wht wire (off the Avic) for rear gear signal input shows a wire lead that has a "fuse resistor" molded into it. I'm missing that, can I make that up or is there a source to get this?

2. The pink speed signal wire, anyone know where to tie that in on a '93?

3. I'm planning in mounting my amps on the rear wall of the cargo area. I was thinking about glueing some 1/2" or 3/4" MDF behind the carpet to give me something to mount to. Good idea? Any other suggestions?

4. I have some 24ga shielded wire I was going to solder RCA ends to, to make custom length cables. Will that work OK or should I buy a specific brand?

Thanks in advance

1 - the 'fuse resistor' is just a small pico fuse, you don't really need it for the HU to function properly, but you can install a small inline fuse if it makes you feel better

2 - no idea on a 93, try asking in the C4 section

3 - good idea

4 - your plan is good, but unless you have super high end amp and speakers you can use any 'store brand' RCA's and not notice any effect on quality vs. the expensive cables
