I have a 2002 C5 Z06. the radio is stock, except there is a JL stealth box with a 10w3 sub hooked to a JL amp dedicated to it. I want to upgrade the rest of the system as now the base is a bit overpowering. I would like to have XM and Ipod , but have no need for Nav as I have a high end garmin. I also would like to keep the cutting of the car to a min. What would be my best choices
For single din radios I'm partial to the Kenwood Excelon line with a fancy mounting plate from humount.com
Removing the oem speaker setup in the doors and dropping in some 6.5" components powered by an aftermarket amp would be a nice addition to the current sub. Remove current single channel amp and install a small 5-channel like XR-5S to power everything, or a 4-channel for fronts and sub without rears, or add another 2/4 channel for everything but the sub.
I have really been pleased with the Pioneer 8200BT. Bluetooth, SD card, USB, 3.5 mm AUX, AM/FM, DIVX and either IPod, Satellite or HD. Does not play discs.
Mark,
That's a nice set up, curious if that Neon is called the Blue or Green?
thanks!

I like the Kenwood Exelons also. I have a DDX8019 in my 06. The ipod and bluetooth work flawlessly.
Do you plan on upgrading the speakers while you're at it? Even the new HU wont really improve the sould that much. An aftermarket amp and a nice set of fronts will sound much better and keep up with the JL bass better.
That radio was a Kenwood Excelon XXV-01D, no problems at all. If I had to get another single din I would definitely look at the Kenwood Excelon line first.
