Unlikely this conversion would happen as a kit. QNX is most likely using it as a mule to show what is coming from cars using their OS that have not been released. QNX is a RTOS company, not a system creator, they use integrators and OEMs to do that work, they just supply the base OS.
About the cluster and washing out: I work directly with this technology and can't say much, but there are proprietary patented methods to keep the cluster from washing out.
Lots of nice stuff and some really crazy stuff coming to a car near you.
