Aftermarket Stereo Issue
A week ago I had Bestbuy install a dvd flip out HU in my 97 C5. I do have the Bose factory system, I asked him if I needed to get the bose interface/adapter and he said no. They installed the new radio but it hardly had any bass output ( the factory radio sounded much better). I turned around and went back and they tore it back down again. This time I did have bass however on my way home the sound would go out if I turned the volume way up. No matter if it was the radio, dvd or usb the sound would go out if turned up. I would have to restart the radio for the sound to come back. I believe the bose amps are clipping under load. I've done a lot of reading since this happened and can't find anything on what can happen if the interface/adapter isn't used. Bestbuy will be putting this interface in for me (free of charge) this weekend. Has anyone had this issue? Shouldn't installing the interface/adapter fix my issue? I think it may be from the difference in omh's between the aftermarket radio and the bose system. Please let me know if this sounds like I'm on the right path.
