Bose Amplifier Problem
05' C6, with Bose 7 speaker system. Bose amplifier self-destructed, I thought someone tossed a brick at the car when all of the speakers blasted their death static. Anyway, was this caused by too much heat? The amp has a huge heat sink, and is mounted under the passenger toeboard, and it doesn't appear to have any ducting, etc to help cool the heat sink. Any ideas?
Could have been as simple as a single manufacturing defect in one of the many components that make up the amp.

Thanks for the replies--- this is a strange one, but according to one of the advertised Bose repair shops, this is not uncommon. The Bose chip is prone to failure, cost of repair is as much as a new amp. I bought one from GM Parts Depot on line for about $300 delivered FedEx. I hope this one is good for another 6 years, but I am concerned about the huge heat sink body and wonder if it gets too hot due to its location under the toeboard next to the fuse box.
