What happened to JBL?
I have a set of home bookshelf speakers -- the JBL L-100 Century. They are almost as old as I am, but still sound fantastically crystal clear with full frequency response.
I want to keep my Bose HU but replace the muffled sounding Bose door speakers.
My idea is that if I replace these speakers with that crystal clear JBL sound, my 2007 non-nav C6 Bose will sound good for the only music I play: Beach Boys, Jan& Dean, Roy Orbison... and ya know the rest of them.

Does JBL make a speaker for the C6 doors that will drop right in with no forcing or bending of anything and not cause electrical problems?
Being away from the stereo stuff for years, I would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions... especially if I am wrong about today's JBL products.
The bose setup is a self powered 10" sub and a 3.5" mid/hi speaker in each door. Many have replaced the speakers with 6.5" components mounted on adapter plates, but in order to make it sound good you have to install an aftermarket amp. Removing the oem door subs also makes you need a dedicated sub in the back. There are plenty of sub boxes available to drop in, or you can make your own square box to put on the shelf, or check out this thread to see how to put an 8" sub in a corner tub.
Anyway, the oem radio doesn't put out enough power for any real speakers.
