Volume control for subwoofer only?

Is there a way to control the volume of a aftermarket subwoofer via a separate controller? I am using the factory Bose Nav head unit with new RCA's with an extra Y for the sub. Amp is a Diamond audio D6 5.2. Is there a way to use some kind of controller for that line going to the amp (sub in) RCA ? Or maybe on the speaker wire coming out of the amp to the speaker? I only want to control the subwoofer and not the front and rear speakers. I will use the HU for front and rear. Thanks!
