sub/interface issues with heat
I have a 99 coupe with a stereo issue. The system is completely stock with interface added for sub output. Amp is Rockford Fosgate 1000 watts powering 1 Kicker solo classic 12. So everything is fine until the car sits in the sun and gets hot. Something stops sending the signal. So an example is I go to the mall on a hot day like 90 degrees and spend an hour there. I come back and no bass. It kicks back on after 10-15 minutes of driving. Car windows down or up has no effect. When this happens, the amp has no leds lighting telling me it's not being turned on. So do I have a bad interface? Or is it the stock stereo causing this?

Have you checked the 12v switched connection at the amp when it doesn't turn on? If there's power there, it could be the amps thermal protection circuit kicking on prematurely. I've never heard of a stock deck or amp adapter doing what you've described. (not that it couldn't happen though)
