FHP using laser/LIDAR like crazy lately. My Valentine One has been a trusted friend for 12 years. The laser detector on it is on the fritz....lots of false positives.....so I began to ignore it. Last week, bam! Got me. Today I passed 4, yes 4 different laser traps on I-4 between Orlando and Lakeland. Good thing I was paying attention but damn. Never had a real hit until the last two weeks, so I guess Florida is in laser mode now. I am looking to upgrade my V1 and get the integrated Laser Interceptor package. Anyone running this setup?
Wondering if what your referring to is what I thought was lazer jamers detecting the V1 as a bogey. In WA state the lazer jamers are very, very common (or people have some other gizmo setting off the V1). It sucks, especially when I pull up behind someone at the light and their jammer thinks I'm a cop. Both our devices go to work, the V1 sets off the lazer warning and neither of us are moving.
While speeding, I now am trained to wait a few seconds for a constant warning sound before hitting the brakes. Too many times the V1 goes off with a lazer warning, I nail the brakes and everyone behind slows/reacts and its all for nothing.
With that delay of hitting the brakes, I had one trooper shoot laser at my car and I slowed after a second or two and he measured my speed again and didn't pull me over. Was 10-15 over on his first measurement with the laser gun and at the speed limit on his second hit.
