Default Door deadening ques .. Where do you put it?

I just ordered a 10 sq. ft. roll of FatMat sound deadener matting. It's the 'peel and stick' variety with a silver outer side.

After I remove my OEM door speakers, I want to cut this matting into pieces and stick it into the door panels before installing the new door speakers.

The deal is .. I am not real sure where to place it in the doors. I would think that it needs to stick up on the plastic interior surface of the outer door skin, but to me, I can't see exactly how you can reach all the areas of the outer door panel skin.

Is there any instructions with photos floating around that show how and where to attach this stuff to?

How hard is it to get it all up inside these doors?

Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, interior surface of the door's outer skin. Did you peel away the rubber vapor barrier? With that hole and the 10" woofer hole you should have no problems accessing the door cavity.

kedar ... Again, thank's for your help!

I haven't even removed the door panels yet. The FatMat has not arrived here yet, so I am not going to start on the doors till it gets here ... I ordered the FatMat as an afterthough after getting as far as I am now with this install.

I just thought I would find out in advance how to go about FatMat installation.

Everything is now finished as to the audio install except for the door speakers and speaker wire running from the door speakers to the amp.

Everything else to include mounting the 5-channel amp, sub box, sub speaker, rear speakers, speaker wire, power and ground cables, turn-on wire, OEM-GM24 and the RCA interconnect cables are all finished. (I am keeping my OEM non-Bose head unit)

EDIT ... BTW, do you re-install this OEM vapor barrier after installing the FatMat?

You need to go through Kedar's install post, stiffen the door skin and aluma-lite covers for the big hole, all of which you can get from RAAM,
I'm also putting on CAE Deflex Powerpads, from ZeroNoise.com, starting my install in a few days ...
