Default Black rubber panels inside each door - Question

Today I had my door panels off. I installed FatMat sound deadening to the interior door skins. Then I installed my focal speakers.

I put both door panels back on, but forgot to re-install those black rubber panels (I guess they are some sort of seal) in the doors. They are attached with a real sticky rubber looking adhesive.

Is it ok to leave these 2 rubber panels out of the doors?

Personally, I can't see that they accomplish very much of anything (especially now that I have sound deadening matting in there).

Thank's,
Ron

Those will affect your sound quality as that is one big hole not to cover up correctly. RAAM has inexpensive precut "alumalite" covers, that when installed make the door more of a sealed box. Others have made their own ...

Those are there to keep water that may leak by the window seals from getting to the delicate part of the door. If you only drive on sunny weekend days you're fine without it, but my all weather DD would be in trouble.

I replaced them with Alumalite panels from RAAM Audio. You're in wet and rainy Florida, I would put them back on.

Thank's everyone for your input ... Well, I guess I will go pull the door panels off again, and put those rubber panels back in.
