Default 2 or 4 channel amp question

If I'm planning on using 6.5 components to the front and not use rear speakers, should I just go with a 2 channel amp or do I need a 4 channel amp to run it??

You could do either. With a 2 channel amp and the components crossovers, you'd be all set. Of course using a 4 channel amp and an electronic crossover, you have a lot more flexibility (crossover points, tweeter and mid/bass gain adjustments, time alignment with the right gear, etc), and potentially that could make things sound better.

Personally I would go with the 4 ch. amp, but I like to be able to fine tune things.

it really doesnt matter, 4 ch. will give you convienience but may be a issue, depending on what you need on the sub side of things down the line. Unless you use a staggered amp, or if your just fine with what the power will be on the sub side bridged, 2 sep. amps would allow you to choose 2 powers easily.. again, doesnt matter.
