GM-Bose Interface adapter problems
I bought a Pioneer DEH-P77DH head unit so I could add an XM tuner to my system. Ordered the speaker interface adapter and wire harness from Scosche. I figured I would put up with the Bose speaker thing for a while and change them later.
I completed the hook up and found that: 1) the wire harness, although they said it would work with my car, did not work completely. I had to run a separate 12volt line to the radio for accessory power, otherwise the radio just would not power up through the harness. The harness was model GM02 just incase you had plans to buy one and would like to change your mind.
2) The interface adapter could not put out enough signal to bring the volume up above normal conversation levels, even with the head unit volume on full. The interface model is FAI-3.
Can anyone offer some assistance on this issue? I've read all of 99HT's info on the Bose system and I can't get this thing to put out any good sound.
Ultimately, I do not plan to keep the OEM head unit.
Has later come sooner? Must I gut the whole thing and start with new speakers and wiring? :(
