I will be swapping out the 10" Bose speakers in my C6. How much clearance is there re speaker mounting depth? I've seen specs go from 2.25 to 2 15/16".
Don't forget to include the thickness of the speaker adapter you'll be using as an addition to the mounting depth. I cut my adapters out of 3/4" mdf, so mounting depth was increased by that amount and was virtually a non-issue for me, not that the door is particularly shallow to begin with.
I have two more questions. First, what size is the OEM corner dash speakers in a ‘13? Second, has anyone had trouble with lower door speakers being too thick and the top mount height too high, resulting in door panel interference? I was looking at a set of 6.5 components on Crutchfield and they said there was a topside interference with the door panel. I understand that thickness of an adapter plate directly plays into this.

I believe all the dash speakers are 3.5". 6.5" components will fit with no issue. The picture is deceiving but the door panel does not touch the speaker. I used Metra speaker adapter plates to mount mine. With the dash speakers, I recommend just disconnecting the stock ones and leave it at that. Here is a picture of my speakers with Metra adapter plates for the tweeter and woofer.
What size tweeter is that? It looks bigger than the standard one.
Update: I got off my lazy butt, popped the dash tweeter, and as was written earlier it was extremely easy with an interior/trim pry tool. The factory uses a standard size tweeter probably around 3/4 inch that is directly attached to the grill. The max opening is around 3” but the cutout is only for the grill so it extremely shallow. The actual opening through the dash is around 1.5 in. This would require installing anything but a tweeter in these corner locations to be cutting up the dash and I’m not doing that. So.... I’m looking over three way 6.5/6.75 systems and putting the tweeters in these corner dash locations or going with a two way with everything in the doors.

I Have a set of Focal KRX2 components in the door. And a set of Morel Hybrid Integra 5.25" coaxial in the rear along with a JL subwoofer. Nothing in the dash except the disconnected factory speakers.

Reason: Changed font size
When you say front face of OEM fiberglass baffle, do you mean the front face of the door itself once the speaker is removed? Also, when you say sled, are you talking the sled for the glass?
The only reason I ask is that I measured it this past weekend and from the bolt on the sled to the front face, I only have 2.5".
I just installed a pair of the Power Acoustic EW-104S 10" shallow mount woofers. Depth-wise and size-wise they fit BUT the mounting holes are way off from GM's. The PA mounting holes don't find enough meat to go into so I had to fabricate some clamp strips to hold the speakers. As soon as I replace the head unit I'll let you know how they really sound. One of the problems the factory radio is having is the volume control stopped working so I can tell the speakers are on but.....
