Need help identifying wire harness
Just picked up a new-to-me 02 Z06 and am trying to trace out some stereo work performed by a previous owner. PO was using a PAC OEM1 as a line out converter to a small (230sd) Rockford Fosgate amp. Ran the power supply to the amp to this surprise in the passenger side footwell. Looks like a factory connection has been grabbed, but I don't have any idea what the purpose was for the wires that were cut. I see an identical colored pigtail at the top of the photo which runs behind the glovebox. Can anyone help identify what I am looking at? The black wire is obviously a ground, but what about the orange and yellow. And what used to be supplied by this connection which is not currently? For what its worth, only one of these connections was active on the amp as a power source. The other connection was taped and hanging in space by itself.

That's the accessory pigtail. GM put it there so us hopeless modaholics had an easy place to find B+, ground, and switched power. From the factory those wires weren't connected to anything, just taped up and shoved in.
Schematics are HERE for the pigtail if you blow a fuse, and you will.
Black - ground
Orange - Battery (fused at 20a)
Yellow - Switched with ignition (fused at 20a)

Thanks for the reply. Great idea on the General's part. I cut out the aftermarket wiring, taped the ends, and rolled it back up. Nice to know it wasn't a complete hack, as I have certainly seen it done before.
