Default 1973 component selection advice

herew what im thinkin so far, after reading whats here on c3 stereo setups

amp, kenwood XR4S, 2 channels powering the fronts, other 2 bridged, possibly to power the sub

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...plifiers/XR-4S

fronts, cdt cl62 pros, these are on sale a number of places at a decent price

http://cdtstore.com/cl_series/cl_62pro.htm

sub, cdt hd800cf, also on sale at a nice price

http://cdtstore.com/subwoofers/hd800cf.htm

my thoughts were to go w the 6.5s in the kick panels, tweets in the dash, and the extra imaging tweets, if i even use them, on the ws posts or wherever they sound best.

im thinkin the 8" sub because id like to mount it in the jack compartment; im currently doing a complete interior restore, and im thinkin about fabbing a custom lid for all 3 rear compartments, mounting the sub in the lid. ive also chosen the kenwood amp so far mainly because it has a decent power output, can power all the speakers in the kit im considering, and its small. id prefer to mount it in the rear compartment w the battery and sub/box if possible

i listen to mostly classic/hard rock, but at a reasonable volume. id like to hear the stereo pretty well w the tops off. im going for sound quality over max volume.

havent even looked into head units yet

my budget is 1k, the stuff above i can get for about 600, figure another 100 for wires and misc leaves me w 3 for the head.

my questions are, hows this system look? pretty well balanced? any better bang for the buck ideas?

any forum vendors carry this stuff or can recommend anything comparable?

any chance the 6.5s wont fit in the kick panel area? any recomended speakers known to fit?

totally open on HU recomendations, i dont own an ipod, but will be gettin one. dont even care for a cd player really, or nav, bluetooth etc. just am/fm/possibly sirius or xm and an ipod jack/usb

tia

That should sound pretty good

For single DINs I've always liked Kenwood Excelon series.
