I bought a JVC KW-NT300 and I have the GMOS adapter wring kit. I thought I had it all wired right, but I can't figure it out. Going into an '08 Z06. There are a couple wires that Crutchfield says arent even on their wiring charts (I can go into details if anyone wants to know).
Does anyone know where I can find wiring diagrams, or point me in the right direction for them. I've been searching but can't find what I need.
sorry, the HU didn't power on. I checked the fuses, and everything else worked.
I'd like to find a diagram for the GMOS adapter kit. I have the directions, but there are a couple wires that aren't mentioned and I was hoping a diagram might help.
The GMOS should plug into the big plug you took out of the back of the radio. There will be red, yellow, and black wires coming out of the gmos, connect them to same color wires on new HU. That will get it powering up with the car.
Connect HU RCA or speaker wires to gmos as per gmos instructions (I've lost track).
The HU will have a blue wire coming out of it labeled 'remote amp' or something like that. Connect that wire to the gmos wire connected to B3 of the oem harness (and also to the trigger terminal of any aftermarket amps you may have installed).
This link has instructions for any other wires you may need except the steering wheel controls (ask if you need them also):
Yes, the GMOS does plug into the plug that came from the back of the stock radio. But the GMOS pulg has a white wire with a red Butt connector (I think thats the name), and the smaller plug on the GMOS that went into the smaller plug from the back of the stock radio has a blue/pink wire. Hope that makes sense. Crutchfield told me these wires were not listed. But the directions also told me to use the orange wire.
So, I'll read through that link, check the wires again, and let you know how I make out. Thanks for the help.
blue/pink is for VSS, ignore gmos and connect HU wire directly to car, same thing for green and green/purple (none of those circuits exist in oem radio harness)
After rechecking all the wires, I checked the fuses again and realized I had looked at the wrong fuse. Replaced the fuse, powered on, put it all back together and so far so good. My own fault, but thanks again for the help.
