Originally, my amp/cap were mounted to an aftermarket partition. I decided I didn't like the idea of the partition blocking the sound of the subs and my newly reworked exhaust. I decided I'd remove the partition and just glue down a piece of MDF like a lot of other people do. Once I got the carpet out, I realize that I could just glue in small boards into the indentations on the rear shelf. I measured the amp & cap to make sure they would fit properly. Meaning their mount points could line up with indentations. I hot glued pieces of 2" & 1/2" hobby board into the indentations, replaced carpet, test fitted with small trim nails (to make sure I was really on the wood), and screwed in. Turned out great, and sounds much better.
Anyway.. thought I'd share that. I don't recall reading anyone else just gluing in thin pieces of wood into the indentations.

Sorry for no pics. Didn't even think about posting it until it was all done. I don't like the idea of wood either.. but I do like that I can easily get it out. Hot glue seems lame, but adheres enough for this purpose and doesn't ruin the car if I want to remove them. I like the idea of the elevator/flat head bolts. I suppose if I could find some small enough to fit the screw holes on my amp & cap mounts, that could have worked too.
