I'm not looking for off an off the chart sound stage just a nice efficient system. No interest in rear speakers, just separates in the front doors. I'm leaning toward mid priced Focals or JL Audio and my biggest hang up is an amp. How can I accomplish this set up ( 2 fronts and 2 subs) with one amp? Would a 4 channel drive the subs efficiently and not overwhelm the fronts? This may have a logical answer but I have it in my head that the subs need more power than the fronts and I just like the idea of having one amp do all the work. If not, I can just add a separate amp for the fronts.
I run Hifonics 5 channel amp for the entire system. Replace the rears as well and run everything off 1 amp. Much better sound.
Thank you

We have Focal, JL and Hybrid Audio products in stock
I would use a Massive NX5 5 channel amp
The go with Focal 165 KR or Hybrid Clarus components
This combo would make the JL subs hit real nice with 800 to sub channel
amp and Focal 165kr or Hybrid Clarus

Dennis... clarification for brain; using the 165 KRs in the front door and no rears? Also, using a 5 channel do I bridge 3 channels together for the 2 subs?

Thanks guys for your help?
5 channel amps have a single dedicated subwoofer channel and 4 channels for the speakers. You will need to know what ohm your subs are when looking at the sub channel rating to get the most from the amp, wiring to the lowest ohm load the amp can handle is best. The W3's come in single voice coil 4ohm and 2ohm. 2 SVC4ohm subs will show the amp an 8ohm load wired in series (pos-neg-pos-neg)or a 2ohm load wired in parallel (pos-pos-neg-neg). SVC2ohm will show the amp a 4ohm load wired in series, and a 1ohm load wired in parallel.
So you want to get an amp stable to 1ohm if you have 2ohm W3's or stable to 2ohm if you have SVC 2ohm's.
I would recommend the Hifonics Zeus 60.4+1k, I own one and it is an excellent amp.
If you are concerned about the subs overpowering the highs and mids (I doubt they would, they aren't all that powerful), then you can adjust the sub channel through your Kenwood head unit as it has a dedicated adjustment for just this purpose. Alternately you could back off the gain on the amp.

Perfect explanation and that is the amp I would also recommend as I also run that amp which powers 2 sets of fosgate power series 5.25" and 2 Fosgate Power Series T1 12's. Sound is amazing.
