Remote start
To begin: My key fob doesn't work. I have gone through the manual and done the steps to program it. I only have one fob that came with my car, the other one was smashed and broken beyond fixing.
I can get to the "hold lock+unlock" point and my doors will lock themselves, but then the menu never changes to the second key fob (not that it would matter). At this point, I can lock and unlock my doors with the key fob all day long, until I turn the key off and open the door. At that point, the key fob will completely stop responding.
I am considering putting in a good remote start system in my car. A friend of mine got this: http://www.amazon.com/VIPER-5704V-FE...4&sr=8-2-fkmr0
My friend is a genius at this and has all the time in the world, plus backup vehicles if it is torn apart for a while.
I am not a genius at this and would rather not mess with electrical stuff. Does anyone have experience installing something like this in a C5 around a 98?

not a fan of aftermarket alarms and remote start nonsense honsetly. but if i absolutley had to have this stuff, it would be professionaly installed by someone that has done a bunch of installs on your particular vehicle.
