Default C6 Speaker Replacement

I recently bought a 2008 6MT coupe without nav and the bose system. The passenger side 8" woofer is blown. It seems that everyone recommends replacing the woofers with component speakers. I really want to keep system stock except for the speakers. I also dont want to go through with installing an amp to the system, but will adding 6.5's in the doors give me comparable bass that the 8's deliver? I see most people install component speakers and then add a sub, which I don't want to do. What options do I have that will give me compareable bass to the stock woofers that will last longer?

Best bet would be to find a cheap take-off sub and replace it with oem.

Non-bose is just a normal speaker. If you have bose you'll need to find a bose take-off to replace the blown sub with, it has an internal amp and the speaker really can't be duplicated with any aftermarket parts unless you do the full amp/sub package.

Component replacements are for the non-sub speaker portion, but they go into the door where the oem sub is normally located.
