Convertible speaker?
Has anyone put in 6 1/2 components in the doors with an amp running them without adding a sub. I was considering this and wanted to know if the mid bass would sound much better than the current bose setup. I was trying to keep costs down and was hoping this would be a big improvement. I just replaced the head unit and twiddle and its sounds ok at best

You will lose some of the low-end, but if tuned properly an amped 6.5 will get close. The extra volume on mid-bass should make up the difference and more, but don't expect any thumping.
