Bose w/6 speakers ??
I met someone at a Vette show a few weeks ago who has an 85 with a factory Bose unit and he told me it had 6 speakers:confused:, 2 rear, 2 door and 2 dash. I never got a chance to listen to it but he says they all work and was suprised mine only had 4. The door and rear grills all say Bose and the dash unit is exactly like mine. Is this possible,I know mine has no dash speakers. His car VIN was actually 237 higher than mine so they were likely built only days apart. What gives here, can dash ones be added "safely" or is he just :confused: .

You've got it right, Trip. Bose (at least in my 86) in door only, dash grilles are empty (for now). Sounds like we're all on the right page and the guy at the show was confused.

You can buy the emblems and pop them on, then brag about it when you go to sell the car. Maybe he was told it was bose but it isn't.

The guy at the show was confused or was fed a line of :bs that he bought hook, line and sinker.
There are no ’85 6-speaker Blose systems. The Blose has two speakers in the rear wells and two speakers in the doors. The dash has a place for 4x6 speakers because the “basic non-Blose stereo option” had 4x6’s in the dash. Can you imagine they had what they considered a basic stereo below the Blose? :lol:
