C6 HU install help
2005 C6 Coupe Bose and Onstar. Taking factory NAV radio unit out.
Just took out all the carpet for deadening and insulation. Found this in the drivers side rear quarter panel. It seems to be just jammed in between the fender and a brace just behind the XM module. It had an ipod adapter plugged into it that I ran my ipod with. PAL II perhaps? It was in the car when I bought it.
Do I need to leave these two units installed or can I remove them without any consequence? Not interested in XM service.
Also, can I remove all the Bose amps etc and not have to worry about throwing codes etc? I am going with a JVC HU, Focal front, JL sub box, and Polk DB's in the rear. XR5S amp.
Got the hookup modules from Double D mods for the integration.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Same with the oem amp, you can remove it, but unless you're seriously trying to reduce weight I'd just leave it there. The XR-5S won't fit in the stock location.
The only module you can't just remove is OnStar, if you unplug it you break the serial data circuit and the car won't start. You can pull the box out, but you have to splice the serial data wires together.
Should sound pretty good when you're done
