you can afford a JL5005? Next to the Diamond Audio amp, it's probably one of the most pricey 5 channels. Here's a few to consider just in case.....

-Phoenix Gold XS6600 - I believe it's still on the market... it kicks butt, 75x4 with 300 bridgeable for the 5th and 6th channels. You can also add a sublevel control like the JL Audio amp.

-If you can get your hands on a F752 Alpine amp made with Tri Path, go for it... it's a great amp for the money.

-the new Kenwood Excelon 5 channel amp is pretty nice, and very affordable. And best of all, unlike most Japanese amps, it's powerful.

-I still think the JL Audio 5 channel amp is your choice... especially if you're not running anything too power hungry for rears. (JL has 25 x 2 at the rear, 100 x 2 at the front, 250 x 1 mono for the sub).

Btw... JL does not honor warranties on products purchased on the Internet... something to consider. You must send a receipt from an authorized dealer with every warranty problem. This is the case with almost every manufacturer

Of those, go with the JL audio. Phoenix Gold and soundstream may also have some you can use.

I am getting the items from a local shop ... and since my brother owns the building they rent ... they are hooking me up ... on the JL's price ..

Which particular amp model is that? I have not seen a 5+ channel Diamond Audio ... maybe I could have the shop hook me up with one of those ...

I have an MTX 5400x. It is really good (never had it thermal on me and I have pushed it hard). It has a class D sub channel on it for better efficiency.

I have heard good reviews of the Hifonics 5 channel amp too (its not a super high-end brand though).

I tend to buy from www.thezeb.com and www.sounddomain.com

When my amp failed recently, it was replaced with a Kenwood KAC X650D. It seems to be very powerful and clean.

I have the new Kenwood Excelon 5 channel amp. It was just a little over $400 and have no complaints what-so-ever. Plus it has a fancy little LED that cycles colors as its on :yesnod:

Soundstream Rubicon 550-5. 3/5 channel amp. 4x80 (or 2x160) + 1x250 stable to 1 ohm. .02%thd, S/N Ratio >100db, Dampening factor >200.

$429 (was $399) at http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/carau...2&q=&start=26. You will be hard pressed to find a better multichannel amp at anywhere near that price.

You Bought THE SHIZNIT!!!! I have the 5 channel in the pathy and a 300/1 in the vette....I did not want too much drain on the batt and did not want to install another battery and upgrade my alternator...did you have to?

I doubt that Iwill ever let another soul touch my MagRedII baby, within reason.....

Again, wish your skills were here in Tampa!

I just bought the amps 5 days ago, and have not got around to installing it ... I plan to, if needed, to upgrade the battery and then lastly the alternator ... it all depends on the results ...
