Default Sound Quality
Installed a Kenwood 6690 in place of my stock unit with 6 disc changer in my 05 c6. The sound quality is far inferior to the stock unit. Is the wattage output that much less in an aftermarket unit than the stock Bose setup. I have to go to volume level 33 to get loud and distortion starts. Almost like the Bose system is not on or do I need to install an amp. Was ok with the sound from the stock setup for the time being.

something is wrong on install..Did you use the GMOS04? If so then you do not have the GMOS04 volume adjusted correctly is your issue

Check your interface adapter instructions to see if the output level is adjustable.
