I have already up graded my stock head unit in by 2006 convertable with a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS. - Seems too be a halfway decent unit. But stock speakers just cant do it for me. Since im on a low budget can anyone suggest a good SET of components for front doors and what possably too use in the rear. I currently have kicker upgrade in rear [from DD mods..] I have a old amp i gotta check on yet too see if its a 2 way or 4. was thinking of a 4 way amp. - ALso do you loose all chimes when i add diff amp. As it works rite not with the head unit and stock amp. [ I hAVE ON STAR/BOSE SET UP.]
Thanks markcz. As for the interface i remember it was the os2/bose [ spelling ] i think it called. As for onstar i dont need it. was just curios on the chimes. So how would system sound with components in front and i leave kicker DS-5.25 IN REAR and i use no amp at this time ?. or is that a waist of money that way for now. compared too using with bose amp with bose speakers.... I have the pioneer AVH-X3500BHS head unit.
Components don't sound too great without proper power behind them, so unless you do a new amp at the same time I'd just wait.
Most interface adapters play the chimes out of a speaker on the box itself, as long as yours is like that it won't affect them.
If your onstar is disabled and you switch to components up front, then you can connect HU RCA outs direct to new amp, which would pretty much bypass the interface. If you want to keep onstar functional you'll have to follow directions for interface.
Thanks again. I did go AHEAD and order up the polk speakers... As for hooking up rca cables off H.U. right UP too amp,---- I didnt think that would bypass other speaker wires hooked up too interface ???...MMM...I still gotta get too the ex's house too get the amp i left there, its not the most powerful or better brand but it will work for now... ANOTHER THING IS FUNNY my owners manual states amp not needed too run sub off unit. mmmmmmmm, they must mean a already powered sub as far as i can see and the head unit has the adjustments for level adjustments.. and fasing.
I got a new amp on the way too now along with component speakers... Any suggestions on where would be good spot to mount the new amp in my convertable. ? I was thinking on the partition where rear speakers are mounted. ???
