Just recently picked up a car with the following items already installed:
Kenwood DDX7019 DVD double din touch screen deck
3 MTX Thunder Elite Amps
Hertz Mille MLK 165 front component speakers
Dual 10” Memphis Audio subs (15-MCR10D4)
Unfortunately the Head Unit doesn't accept the iPod hookup on an iPhone 5.. so this kills my experience a bit.
Would I be able to purchase another Kenwood unit and do a plug and play swap to a newer model without having to redo all of the harnesses and such? Admittedly I'm not an audiophile, so the easier it is to replace the better for me!
You would have to rewire just the kenwood harness itself as they have changed the plug and made it one across the entire line now. Real easy.... Just a color for color swap

Perfect! Thanks for the info! That's what I was hoping for, will keep the installation costs out of the picture.
Do you happen to know which harness I'll need to purchase for the Kenwood DDX790? Crutchfield is only telling me to grab a SPDT harness, but I don't think that is accurate.
