Head Unit install problem - please help
So I am attempting to install a single DIN Alpine HU in my C5 today - all was going well until I tried to put the new HU in and it won't fit - I can't manage to get it to go back all the way in - It seems to want to stop with about an extra inch sticking out - not sure if I am bumping up against the metal bracket in the back or not. Anybody know what I am doing wrong here?

Yes, it's normal. I didn't want to cut mine because I once thought I might want to return the car to 'stock' after I was done. So I cut the bracket off but purchased a new metal 'cage' that is part of the dash to replace it in the future.
My C5 is long gone, but that dang cage is still in my garage...
