I recently blew one of my front JL C5-650 components. I have a JL 450/4v4 powering the fronts with 150w each side. After researching new fronts I'm going with Hertz HSK165XL's. they have great reviews and handle a lot of power.
The amp puts out 80 X 4 so that should be enough I would think, but will take a look at that.
The Focals are nice but I will say that overall they are very bright and I find myself dialing down the highs a lot. I have a long commute and sometimes it feels like my ears are getting pounded.

A lot of the hi quality speakers have "bright" tweeters. Its a VERY common complaint.
Im referring to the quality of the amp not its rms rating. Im personally going to be using a rockford fostgate amp that I am not particularly impressed with quality wise. Its footprint makes it viable to stick under the passenger seat. C4s are difficult audio wise...
I have been using the polk db6500 components in several cars and they are also a touch bright. They are dirt cheap and perform like speakers costing three times as much.
